I noticed that on HP website there is a print driver that allows pock pc 2003 PDA to print word or excel docuemnt directly from PDA. I have tried numerous time to print using the HP utility but it does not seem to work. Any ideas or is HP fooling me

Ah, can you be a bit more specific? Have not used this utility, but if you post a link I would like to give it a try.

Is it a Infared connection? Do you have Infrared capability on your printer?

First make sure that the HP utility supports your printer.

Second, if using a networked printer, make sure you have your networked printer set up properly to enable sharing.

Third, make sure you have proper, full access to the networked PC that the printer is connectad to. Might want to diable any firewalls temporarily.

If you're using a Bluetooth or IR printer things are a lot simpler. Make sure you are in range and trying to print a supported file.

I use PrintPocketCE to print to my SiPix Moble printer5 Some times it takes a couple of tries when I have the printer networked, but don't have any problems, to date, printing thru the IR port.

Double check your settings and make sure you are using an HP supported printer. Otherwise, I woulL suggest you try PrinterPocketCE- it just won an award if I remember correcty. :approve:

I use the HP Mobile Printing s/w to print to my HP OfficeJet 1100. The printer is on my home network w/ a static IP & an HP PrintJet (? sorry, not home to confirm) in-line print server. I connect via wifi to my router, & send the file I want to print via HP Mobile Printing's file-explorer-type selection box. Printer info is configured in the Print Manager program. Works well. Have not tried in in any other config (IR, Bt, or other printer)

If your printer is connected directly to your computer, it will not have an IP address...you'll need to buy a print server for that...

I have an Axim X30 and the HP software and print my word and excel documents all the time. I found it works best with infared and networked printers with IP address. I did use one shared on the network, but it was a pain getting the exact address right. The IP ones were pretty simple to use.

How do you find your printers ip address is there a program or do you have to look in system files?

The type of printer that can have an IP should be able to print out a config sheet that contains its current IP.

If it can print Bluetooth infrared, why should it not work on the X50v?

If I can figure the PATH, I would be happy

For those who have a printer on a server with a router, go to the router setup/config pages to find the DHCP IP address that the router assigned to the printer. Then type that address in the address bar of your browser to access the printer server setup/config pages. There, you can set the printer server up with a static IP address. Then change the settings on your Windows printer settings (properties) dialog box to reflect the static address.
