Bluetooth to USB adapter? (not USB to Bluetooth, I know those exist)

Just thought of something that would be pretty damn cool. A bluetooth device with USB ports that can communicate with the X30. There is no reason why it can't work, it is all serial connections, but if somebody makes it is the question. If it does exist, just grab a 2.5" HDD enclosure which is power from the USB connection, and you are good to go. Granted... something like this, powering a HDD, blueooth, and USB host would suck up battery like crazy.

I doubt any of this is possible, I'm just bored thinking of ways to actually use the bluetooth on my X30.

It sounds like you're talking about wireless usb, where instead of a cable, you're using bluetooth to connect to a usb device. There is already a wireless usb specification :http://www.usb.org/developers/wusb/. I doubt they will make a wireless version compatible with the bluetooth 1.2 implementation since that is very slow. If you want to connect a wireless harddrive, take a look at the ASUS WL-HDD 2.5, which is a wi-fi external enclosure for a 2.5" harddrive. http://www.hardavenue.com/reviews/asuswlhdd1.shtml. It doesn't run on batteries, so it's not really that portable.

Well you can't power anything wirelessly. Wireless power hasn't been released to the public yet. Though a BT USB Hub would be nice. What about a Wireless BT KVM system (KVM is Keyboard, Video, Mouse for running 2 computers with the same monitor, and input devices)

It essentially could work. Like stated, BT is just a beefed up Infrared kinda. Could happen. Patent it and give me half.

Or just a bluetooth harddrive would be a start

I just thought of this the other day too, how great would a add tiny bluetooth harddrive you left in your bag which streamed that 30 gigs to your axim, but if you need to go portable who needs the hard drive you can with out disconnecting or doing antyhing special...

though battery drain would be high on both, least it could be an option

Asus WL-HDD rocks. Easy to set up and use. I'm almost afraid to flash the new ROM, it's so easy to use already. You can share another external drive hooked up to its USB port (USB1.2 though). I built an external battery that I can use to recharge my Axim or run the WL-HDD itself. I bought one, not willing to pay what the Ratoc card costs or to wait for the Twin-Paradox USB host card. Since the WL-HDD uses the Linux kernel, there is a custom ROM available. I wonder if it can share non-data drive devices, like keyboards or USB cameras?
