X30 as MP3 player

First of all the X30 is only second choice for listening music owing to background noise (even with koss earphones!) independant of volume and bit rate.
Second active sync tends to crash when transferring via file explorer mp3 files from pc to X30 especially when the bit rates are beyond 192k. Why? In this case active sync funnily converts high bit rates into lower ones let's say 80k without actually changing the file size. This conversion process is likely to corrupt or even abort the file transfers.
The only thing for it is to transfer high encoded files via a card reader.

Has anyone come across this glitch?

I listen to MP3s on my X30, and haven't had the same problems. Have noticed that its a bit on the quiet side though. Definitely no problems transferring MP3 files - I do it through file explorer though, and they arrive safely enough.

Get a pair of phones that have a volume control..you can then reduce the volume till the hiss disappears.

Not perfect by any means, but it is a workaround.

Did you uncheck the file conversion box in Activesync setup?

Interesting; changes the bit rate but not the file size. What's the point?

Has anyone confirmed this.

I also us a card reader; it's much faster and easier.

Yeah, I transfer mp3s using a card reader. No problems with 192 that way.

I'm also using betaplayer. It's excellent. Plays all my music and videos and covers lots more formats than WM. :D
