ActiveSynch Looking forChanges hangup

I've had my Axim X30 H for 2 months & have been slowly figuring things out. Have had no problem with the cradle synching until this past week -- it takes a couple resets to "take". The cradle itself works -- the PDA is fully charged, but i haven't gotten my PDA synched since yesterday. I'm on ActiveSynch 3.7.1. When i put my PDA in the cradle, ActivSynch pops up, connects and then proceeds to be "Looking for changes" for quite some time before it pops back with a connection error. Suggestions anyone?
