Worried I need to sync with new computer, best way?

I just recieved my new Dell PC, my question is what is the best way to not run into problems syncing with the new PC. Here is what I plan to do: delete the partnership with the PC that I am getting rid of, then on top of that I need to reformat my Dell laptop (whole different story), so I will delete the partnership with that as well. So I will be left with my Dell Axim with all my precious data on it. Should I have a problem when I resync essentially empty Outlooks in both PC's? I am thinking that this would be the best way to do it. Any help or tips would be appreciated.

The process I use for that situation maybe a little involved some would say but better safe than sorry here's what I do:

Sync one last time then get the data off the old computer including the outlook.pst file and the my docs folder for your Axim. Don't wipe it until the new one is complete.

Setup the new machine set up outlook I put in a fake address, task appointment etc.

Setup active sync, now here's where the "WCS" comes into play. Worse Case Scenario the pocket outlook data will be removed from your Axim (Don't Panic) this data lives in the outlook.pst file from your old computer. It may just put your Axim data in the new outlook file. But lets just say it took your outlook data off your Axim.

Once you confirm you are synching properly remove your Axim from its cradle. Copy your old outlook.pst file to your new machine replacing the new one. Also copy your PDA My Documents folder to the new computer.

Sync again and all of your info should go back to your axim and it should remove the fake info you previously had in it. Now your are in sync with your new machine.

Like I said a little involved but although you can setup the Axim in a short amount of time, years of data lost would not be a good thing. Now there will be those who would say setup the new partnership and let the Axim put its data on your new computer. Hey that can work also I just prefer to have outlook overwrite my pda (guess it comes from doing alot of installs)

As for your other software the only ones you have to reinstall are ones that do some type of communication ie; Avantgo, Vindigo, Weatherbar. Programs like wisbar or pocket breeze dont require reinstallation.
