How do you clear recently used programs history?

Hi All,

Could anybody tell me how you clear the list/history of recently used programs that you get on the start menu?

Thank in advance :)

ok here you go:
the regestry key is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/software/microsoft/shell/taskswitch
Once there delete the values that have paths next to them it will be obvious that the paths are the same as the shortcuts on the recent pgms list. soft reset your done.
Don't know how you are set for utilities I use kilmist regestry editor one cool feature it has is that you can save favorites. Once done you don't have to navigate to the key just a tap on the shortcut and your there. Beats having to remember the key

Warning, shameless plug to follow...

I have a freeware program that will help you clear unwanted items from your list
of recently used programs. Have a look at the link in my signature.

EDIT:
Here is the link, 'cause I no longer use (like) signatures.

Program History

That works, but you still have to go in and clean it up fairly often. Is there a more permanent way to disable the history from showing up in the Today screen??

ya

I'm testing my new X30H. :) Got WisBar Adv(ver 2.01.7), has a setting that lets you, "Show Recent Items on start menu or not" So far I like the WisBar, still testing/playing with it :)

Hope this is what you where asking about

If you delete the entire registry key rather than just the value, the programs won't come back to your Start Menu. See my post in this thread: http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...764#post454764

Yeah, uh, that doesn't work. Sorry.
The keys are just created again. I thought it worked because I was launching programs without going through the Start Menu.
