How to install exe files

OK, I'm new to this whole Pocket PC thing, but I can't sem to figure out how to install the exe files. Cab files install fine, butexe are another story. For instance, I downloaded Macrmedia Flash 6 for PPC. When I download it I get the exe file. How and where do I need to put the file so it will install? Thanks.

ASync your Axim, then run (double-click) the .exe on your PC.

It will then start the ASync Installation Wizard. When it asks you if you want to Install to the Default........this is the time to decide if you want it installed in Main Memory or to an SD Card.

Not sure I understand what to do. I'm connected to the DEll via Bluetooth. I can see my SD card and the device, and I can transfer the files to it, but no go when I click to try to ijstall them. I guess I need a step by step instructions.

I can't. I'm on a mac. All it does is try to launch Virtual PC for me. I can however tell the file to associate with another program and maybe that will help, but I don't se a way to associate the file to Active sync. Maybe I should have said that to begin with, but I thought it didn't matter. I use Pocket Mac to help transfer files.

Also I can get the file when double clicked to launch the active sync PMcabTool program and I show it where the exe file is, but it says there is no cab files found in the file specified.

Yup. Or get a friend with a PC and a willingness to install Activestink to help you out. The Flash6 thing and most other PPC software contains CAB files - sometimes they're locked up pretty tightly though, like friggin' Installshield nonsense EXE files. I tend to run an EXE once, grab the CAB(s) I need, then delete the EXE. Can't stand my PC. Ew, yuck, phtewui!

email me and I'll send you the CAB.

There's sync software for Macs, costs money though. Check over at google for windowsce.net the webmaster there is involved in the development.

Really? Chris De Herrera is working on PocketMac or something like it? I had no idea. Man, the guy's got one of the most informative sites for CE devices on the planet, holds down a day job in banking IT, does stuff for Microsoft, and who knows what else... busy.

Well, I found out I'm not really SOL. Just go to freecabs.com and you can get all the cab files you need. Well, most anyway.

Sorry I didn't remember them earlier. It's been a while since I visited there. But, it is not freecabs.com. That gets me a 'domain name for sale' page. It's this one:

http://www.freecabs.de/

German, I think.
