getting rid of programs from start menu

Everytime I run a program that program will show when I go to the start menu. eventually there will be about 20 programs popping down when I hit the start button and this gets annoying. How do we stop this from happening.

Upon clicking the Start Menu, only the last 5 most recently used programs will appear there so you dont have to worry about it filling up with more than that.

ya but we wan ZERO programs there
