To return or not to return: Need opinions

I recieved my new X30 last month and used it for a while thinking windows had slow letter recognition in letter mode. After a while I chalked it up to a faulty digitizer in a small 1/8" x 1/8" space right in the middle of my lower case letter writing area. Called Dell and they sent me a new Axim within 4 days (I had very good service), now the new digitizer is perfect, I didn't realize how bad the old one was till now. The problem is that the actual screen on the old one was flawless, where the new one has a lighter stripe from right to left, and a couple of lighter areas in the screen. I am very fussy by nature, and really dislike the light areas on my PDA, but is it worth sending this one back as well, or is it impossible to get a perfect screen?

Thoghts anyone...

Did you install a Screen protector? Try without. Do you see the same thing in landscape mode? Cal Dell if it is still there and see if they can help you. They will ask you to do a soft reset and hard reset better do these before calling them.

I guess it depends on how much the display is bugging you. Personally speaking I would return it because it will only get worse and probably will not get any better. You paid good money for that toy - it should be perfect.

I would call them back to get it exchanged for another one.

Hell yeah. You spent alot of money on that thing. Why should you settle for less than you paid for?

I am having a similar dillema. My x30h was working fine all along for the 2 months that I've had it. About a month ago, I realized that the left side is not nearly as sensitive as the other sides. This problem along with the REALLY annoying hissing sound while playing songs has given me the idea of sending the unit back. What should I do?

Thanks,
jcll2002

Oh yeah, theres always the possibility of yelling at CS so much for their horriblemistake that they should give me the x50v!!(Though I am willing to pay the difference):approve:

Thanks for the opinions all, with all that you have said, I did it and called Dell, they are sending me a new Axim, and they were more than supportive about sending a replacement. jcll2002, with the response from both forum members and myself, send it back if you're not completely satisfied, we paid good coin for these things.

Thanks again everyone...

if you look around, you will probably find a bunch of people that have gotten their Axim's and had to get a couple of replacements before they got a good working unit.
