Unresolvable Unresolved items

Hope the subject doesn't confuse you; I seem to have a prob with some unresolved items....I can't resolve them. They both seem to be MS Outlook related. One is a contact, which I wrote to the device first. Upon sync, I get an unresolved issue, and when I try to resolve it, I get this message: "The following contact cannot be written to MS outlook do to error 8004011D. The item will be skipped." Then it lists the said contact.

The second unresolved item has something to do with the my Inbox, yet ActiveSync doesn't list any trouble report for it. I uninstalled, and then re-installed Outlook 2000 thinking it would fix the problems, but it didn't.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem only with a different error number number ...4005. I've hard reset, un and re-installed activesync and outlook and restored from a backup on the ppc. Still when I make a new task or calender entry and sync I get a new unresolved item. Ive tried to find the files wcesmgr.log as suggested by the microsoft site to figure out which entry is the corrupted one but can't find the files in Windows XP.

I'm having trouble, too. Syncs fine with laptop; used to synch with work PC fine, also, but now can't resolve any items in Inbox, Calendar, Contacts, or Tasks. It does sync Favorites and I can transfer files....

Here's my wcesmgr.log, if anybody knows how to read it....

Any ideas? I've uninstalled ActiveSync & Outlook 2003, hard-reset the Axim, reinstalled everything, deleted all partnerships, selected to partner with only one computer, etc. w/o any luck. Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1100 series w/XP Home; work PC is a Microcenter PowerSpec w/XP Pro.

I took the liberty of doing a google search for your "Microsoft Outlook Synchronization Service Failed" error message (in the body of your log) and found the following article (see the link). Basically it says there might be an issue with a recurring appointment and it gives directions on how to correct it. Maybe that will help.

Thanks -- I did the same thing (google) and was in the process of deleting all recurring appointments. No luck. Deleted ALL appointments. Still no joy.

I appreciate the attempt!

Have you tried forcing the sync through by going to Tools->Options->Rules (tab) in ActiveSync and adjusting Conflict Resolution for the Desktop (i.e. Always replace the item on my device - since you have restored you PDA a couple of times...).

I would set this option back if you get the problem fixed so that you don't wipe out appointments that you make on your PDA while it isn't connected to your PC.

Good Luck

You need to reinstall Outlook 2002 found on the install CD and then make sure Outlook 2002 will fnd your personal outlook folders (you may have to delete erroneous duplicates). Then if you reinstall ActiveSync it should sync those folders.

The problem can be magnified as the WAB32.dll (Windows Address Book) which is part of Outlook Express, and which used to be the program component shipped with earlier PocketPC's, is now an integral part of IE6, and if you try to reinstall that, as requested, the download of the IE6 download from Microsofts' web site will not install if you have current security updates already downloaded (the message you have a new version...etc). And you cannot uninstall IE6 (easily) to reinstall it.

So your only choice is to reinstall Outlook 2002 from the Axim install CD. The Outlook in Office 2000 doesn't seem to work, at least for me.

I have the same problem sometimes. All I have to do is disconnect USB and reconnect it and it fixes itself.

Unresolvable unresolved items

I had a similar issue involving the WAB.DLL and then the 8004011d error and here's what solved it for me :) I'm now back to syncing as before between the Axim and the PC

Str TokEx cannot be located in MSOERT2.dll

Solution!

My previous posting solved the problem until the PC rebooted then it was back to square 1:realmad: I next went to the W2K installation disk and opened up wab.zip from which I selected all of the .dll files and pasted them into the system32 folder on my PC - after several reboots I think I'm safe in saying this fix seems to work
