Exclamation Unexpected behavior of Axim x30 After Hard Reset and Software Reinstall

Well, they say truth is stranger than fiction, so here goes.....Last night I had tried to install and get into using WebISMail 2.0 without success. In fact, thereafter my axim would stop unpredictably and no number of soft resets etc would get it started again......So, I did a hard reset (saving contact information somewhere since it did not get deleted!.... ) I reinstalled everything from scratch (not a backup since I did not have one.....OK I know I know....Back up Backup Backup ,,,,, ANyway, reinstalls went fine except I had to get the Text Maker registration number again (they responded very fast BTW!) ....When I had everything back in place, switched on the unit, and everything works much better than before !!!!! (and it was all working before).... Now for the unexpected .... I was previously able to receive email and to send them to my covad DSL provider based webmail....but could not send reliably to my school email account or elsewhere. NOW, I can send anywhere (and WebIS MAIL is NOT there at all!!!) Also, my email synchs flawlessly when it is coming into my axim (when on the cradle so far) from my covad account....but the odd thing is that I use OUTLOOK Express as my PC email client!!!!!)....I do not have Outlook active anywhere!). Wi Fi performance is also improved on or off cradle here at home (had to reenter WEP key after reinstalls).....THis is weird but a great outcome! And to finish off.....THIS TIME I did a full backup...but I did not upgrade the ROM before or after

Somehow hard resets may sometimes be more therapeutic than I realized!

Sounds like you had a lot of kruft in main memory taking up RAM needed to run programs. If you reinstall a lot of programs, you might want to use built-in storage instead of "default location" or "Main Memory".
