Question Host name for Axim

I am trying to install a Belkin wireless router. In the configuration panel of the router I see Axim but the Host Name shows up as "(Null)". Is there a way to assign a host name to your Axim?

I have X30Mid

You can name your axim under Settings, System, About.

Change the name to something other than pocket_pc.

But, I don't know what this has to do with a wireless router. Since when do you install a computer onto a router?

I guess I was not clear in framing my question. I have installed a new wireless router (Belkin 802.11g). 1 desktop and 1 laptop are wired (connection) to the router. Axim is obviously wirelessly connected to the router. When I check the "DHCP client list" in the router setup (from my desktop), it shows me the two wired clients and 1 wireless client i.e. my Axim. but it shows up as "(null)". My question was - is it possible to give a name to our Axim which will then show up on the network?

Edited to add the answer - Thanks to http://wifi.aximsite.com/router.html

If the name has "_", the default I had was "Pocket_PC", then we do not see it. Hence I changed it to "PocketPC"

Interesting that you say the '_' is a bad thing...I have three PCs (two laptops and a desktop, plus my Ax 3x1. All of them a named USER_PC or USER_LAPTOP or USER_AXIM. And they work just fine wirelessly with my MS router...

I've read before on other sites that the '_' is against Win networking protocol...But mine works fine, so why change a good thing? :D

I did not say that it did not work. It works, but in the DHCP listings, it does not show the HostName. Atleast it does not show in my case. Can you check your router config and verify this?
