Accessing PC files from PPC

I successfully have my axim networked with my PC. I can see the files on my PC, but i cannot open them. for instance, i cannot open a word file on my axim that is saved on my PC. is this possible to do, or do i have to copy it onto my axim then open it. i was hoping to also play music and videos on my axim that are saved on my pc. thanks.

What were you using when trying to access the files? File Explorer will not work, but Resco Explorer or Total Commander will.
