Sort by default settings

When I open a program that has a drop-down "sort by" menu for opening files (Word, Excel, Picture Viewer, File Explorer, etc.), I cannot seem to get the last sort by setting to "stick" when I close the program and open it again. I don't mean when I minimize the program (by tapping the red X), but after I actually close the program using an add-on program or the Switcher Bar. For example, if I open the picture viewer program, the default sort is by date. If I change that to 'name,' CLOSE the program and then re-open it, it defaults back to 'date.' Naturally, if I just minimize it, it 're-opens' with the files sorted by 'name.' This is true with other programs as well but their default settings are usually 'name.' I am wondering if this is normal or is something wrong with my unit. Thanks.

Well someone in the newsgroup helped me out. Turns out that is the correct behavior. When completely closing an app, the sort by menu defaults back to whatever it was programmed to. I am using SBP Pocket Plus that is set to close the app entirely when I tap the red X (versus minimizing it).
