Exclamation Had to creat a new "Device ID" again! Why?!

Very frustrating !

Going back step by step, yesterday I did a sync, then worked on the comp. and did a Disk Clean up/ De Frag. Whent to work, did a sync in that computer today with no problems, I actually up-dated a couple of things (picts, contacts).

Tonight I get home, put my X30 in the cradle, and my home computer does not recognize the PDA, it would only allow me to creat a new Device ID or be considered a guest !! .

The problem is, I'm running out of names since its happened before (hard resets and no recognition) and second when I get back to work I'm going to get the same thing over there since the ID name has changed. Why did my home computer not recognize my PDA out of the blue??!! :realmad:

After you do a hard reset you need to delete the relationship on the PC before you put the Axim back in the cradle. Then you can create a new account with the same name.

Take your Axim out of the cradle. Then, in activsync, go to File> Mobile Device. Does more than one device ID show in there, but only one is showing as selected?

Because activesync on the computer keeps the profile, if you do a hardreset on the PPC, all the settings are still in Activesync...

Thanks for the info. guys, I did learn a couple of tricks. But todays "problem" came out of no where. I have not done a Hard Reset in weeks, today was a regular day. I placed the X30 in the base and the comp. did not recognize it. Even though the ID in the PDA was the same as that on the computer, it wouln't let me since that was the name of another user.

I did erase all the other ID's I had in Active sync, so for the future I can re use them.
