Palm does come with a better Personal Information Manager system, but the average user won't need that...and if they do, there are secondary programs as well.
Now, Palm kicks butt in terms of number of programs available, and applications for both education (of all kinds, from students to teachers to all subject areas, and attendance software for the PPC is a JOKE) and medical professions.
If the PPC continues to sell better than the Palm, and I feel it will, the developers will come to the dark side of the force. They follow the money, just like Jerry Macguire.

Just curious! which one enter the market first? Palm or PPC?
Yea, I think it will sell better too!

Yes, there is a ps1 and GBA emulator. Do a search on the forums and you should find it. BTW, I sold my X30 and I'm saving up for an X50v or some other PPC.

I have a SHARP machine before which uses the LINUX... I really don't like it since it's really hard to find softwares...

But don't forget the third option: Linux.
I haven't used a Linux PDA very much, so I can't say very much about it. I have, however, used regular Linux a lot.

palm sucks, ive own an M100, M500, M505, M550 and they were all garbage, but at the time PPC sucked too, now PPC is WAY ahead of palm, palms are fast but have nothing going for them, they dont have wireless only bluetooth for even HIGH end palms. they dont have a good integration with ms products like ppc does (IE: MS streets and trips 2005) palms are slow and you dont have much control over the os like you do with ppc, palms suck for networking. their mp3/mp4/etc support is garbage as well.

I was an old Palm 5 user. Good ole black and white days. I took a few years away (back to paper) then decided to try the Sony Clie TJ-37. That was a nice PDA and I would have kept it except for two problems: 1 - sony discontinued it in the US and 2 - it had a non-replaceable battery. I bought the X30-mid because it was about the same as the clie in the price/features dept. The clie did everything I've done with the Axim (mp3, wifi surfing, email, video, simple games) except it was simpler with the clie. The wifi worked better under palm than it does with ppc and with the free docs-to-go I could do all my office stuff, including powerpoint, on the clie. We all know about the lack of free powerpoint support for the PPC. Somebody explain that one! When the time comes for my next pda I would consider going back to a palm if the price/feature/performance matches up with what's available in PPC.

Which one do you carry around with you on a day-to-day basis? Just curious.

I think the Pocket PC might be better as a business tool

I would actually disagree with the above statement. It is true that current versions of Pocket Word and Pocket Excel are poor, especially compared to Docs to Go. But I have found that SoftMaker's software is superior for Text and Spreadsheets. And there are good third-party solutions for presentation software as well.
As a graduate student I use my Axim rather intensively for wordprocessing and for reading documents (using repligo).
I purchased a Tungsten E and ended up returning it for the above reasons AND because I think it is important to have a user-replaceable battery [better for heavy users and better for people, like me, who plan to have the device for awhile].

As soon as Palm makes a good WiFi unit, I'm going back. I live by the PIM and Vidigo. Palm is much easier there. I don't care for Outlook. I liked my combination of PalmDesktop and Outlook Express better. Multimedia is nice, but I'm not going to stick with it just for that. Besides, I can't find the card game "Darnit" for PPC.

Usually, I carried around my T|3 because I hated that damned Axim. It was a bad unit, dell admitted, and gave me my money back. I am selling my T|3 to a friend, so I'm looking into a new device. The x50v or the x30 high will be among the top units I chooose. i love the x50v's looks, but I don't know if I should get another handheld...

I switched from a Palm Zire 71 to an Axim X30-mid. There are pros and cons of both platforms. Here are some of them, in my opinion:
Ease of Use - Palm
Choice of Programs - close
Battery Life - Palm
Replacable Battery - PPC
Customization - PPC
Fewer soft resets - Palm
Recovery after a crash - PPC
It's close. I like the PPC now because I'm used to my Axim and for under $250 you can't find a Palm with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Technically, another advantage of the PPC is multi-tasking, but I never really missed that when I used a Palm. Also, even though the PPC's usually have faster processors and more memory, the Windows OS slows them down so much that even a Palm at half the speed seems faster.
