Internet Explorer Questions

What is the best way to configure pocket IE to view the internet? And how would I go about doing that?

Are there websites designed specifically for pocket pc?

Basically any page you can find at avantgo has a mobile version so start there when looking for mobile formated websites.

Hopefully waxwing will visit this thread with his list of PIE enhacements. I use a program called multiIE myself.

Using your devices landscape mode allows better webpage viewing.

I use PiePlus and ftxPBrowser, both are great alternatives to PIE. I've also heard great things about MultiIE.

I hear Don't Panic shout and I jump...

Reensofts PIE Plus (and they have a new version 1.3 which is even better, watch for it to be released in the very near future) allows more than one window at a time plus includes the ability to fool web sites into thinking you're running IE6 on a desktop, check it out and try the trial at: http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=10692
ftXp can add certain things that are usually desirable and it's free, but hasn't been upgraded in a long time and needs it.
Southway Corp.'s MultiIE which adds a lot to PIE, see and try it at: http://www.southwaycorp.net/multiie.htm
for ftXp, see: http://park15.wakwak.com/~ftx/ftxp3e/
Better yet, try all 3 and make your choice and hope this helps.
Another one that is pretty decent is Netfront v3.1,(supposedly they have a new versions to come out this year that will cover some of their weaknesses) trials are also available on it but it is a bit pricey and while I own it, I don't really like it after using it for a while. Here is the delvelopers link tho, take a look:
http://nfppc.access.co.jp/english/
Another freebie, not really a browser but a service somewhat similar to THawk in that it renders web pages for use on a PPC or Palm or whatever for that matter. Here's their link (I use in the subscription version) it works quite well:
http://www.greenlightwireless.net/skweezer/
Try all of them

For prime mobile sites, go to(on your Axim or Desktop): www.pdahotspots.com
This site has a 1000 + mobile sites and you'll find something on every subject you can think of to look for.

Have fun:approve:

Hi,
Just wanted to say thanks to all for guiding me to PIEPlus. I was having a problem with my Axim not recognising I.E.6 and telling me to upgrade from I.E.4 while on Yahoo. Problem was that you can't upgrade from 4 to 6 with the program that comes with the Axim. Anyway, PIEPlus gives you the option to fool I.E.4 into thinking its seeing version 6. My first time on this forum and found what i needed fast, thanks guys!
