backwards file sharing?

Ok..I cant seem to figure this one out...maybe it cant be done...i dunno...

Anyhow I have wireless connected and I can see my desktop shared files through my axim and work with them with no problem.

Is there a way to go the other way? that is, is there a way to see the axim files from the desktop WITHOUT activesync?

Can you tell me how do you get your Axim to see your desktop shared files? I want to do that but just can not figure it out. Thanks!

I run XP on the desktop. I setup a specific set of files to be shared, right click and set the properties to sharing on these files. Then on the axim I click on the file explorer and then at the bottom I click on the little symbol of the hand that looks like a hand holding a pile of disks, this opens a path window, you then have to type in the name of your office machine, and then the name of the file that is shared. I think Ike Hikers guide covers this. But it doesnt cover the bakwards sharing idea...
