How to Remove Programs from the Programs Menu

How to Remove Programs from the Programs Menu

A Short Tutorial

Every once in a while, the average Pocket PC user runs across an application that, when uninstalled, leaves its icon in the Programs menu. This can be very bothersome if one does not know how to remove this old icon. Thus, this is a question that comes up often: How do I remove old program icons from my Programs menu?

Any file explorer program can be used to perform this operation, including the File Explorer that is installed in ROM. Tap Start - Programs - File Explorer to run this program. Navigate to the /Windows/Start Menu/Programs folder. Then, tap and hold on the icon that you want to delete, then tap the "Delete" option. Presto! The icon is gone!

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my tutorial. I hope it answered your questions.

I would be pleased if this thread could be pinned, as the problem addressed here comes up much too often.

I did find an eBook in my built in storage card (silly newbie me!) but following you instructions is won't delete I get this message:Can not dlete 'Wild Blue' Access is Denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and the files is not currently in use.

So for you other newbies I found my solution I'll pass along: I read the last part of that sentence and relaized the book may be running. I went to Start/Programs/Home/Memory/ then the tab Running Programs and sure enough, it was running. I hit STOP to turn it off, went back to the delete instructions and success, I jusr recovered a lot of main memory!! :approve:
