Free Wisebar

I have been using wisebar during its trial period. I like it because when I close a program, it actually closes. Does anyone know of freeware that is similar other than magic button (for some reason, magic button doesn't work good for me)

thanks
Justin

I like the Dell util 'Switcher Bar' that comes with the X30...Let's you switch between apps and when you so choose, you can tell it to close out of an application...It's like an Alt-Tab and Alt-F4 rolled up in 1.

I just loaded vBar and it seems to work well. It's only 21kb, so that's a plus!!

I use a free version of wisbar.

http://www.pelmarinc.com/html/pocket_pc.htm

There are several different varieties of this I think modified from the same original program after the developer gave away the source code I think.

i go with the switcher bar as well, mostly because im cheap and don't feel like spending money on programs that already exist in ur pocket pc. Switcher Bar gets the job done. :approve:

I use magic button. It has the smallest footprint and and it does what you need it to- nothing more. Magic Button is awesome, so I advise that you give it another shot.

You can get another version of Wisbar from Pelmar, Inc. (www.pelmarinc.com I believe)

I have never had any luck with these things. The Dell switcher has the least 'issues' that I have run into. Typically, I find the amount of soft resets goes up when I try these switcher things. At times due to a hard lockup. Some also seem to eat battery faster. Now hear this: The fact that the applications don't close when the user closes them is just stupid and the fact that everyone looks for magic button and other software to add this fuctionality is a testiment to how stupid it is. Another demonstration of M$ brilliance!

I use Pelmar Wisbar and it works great for me. Only pathology is going to landscape, you have to stop and restart it for everything to line up, easy enough, but a PITN.
