Worried Dell said to do a hard reset, I would not loose data, lost data

I called dell, to try to get the bluetooth working.. as it was working just fine before our computer problmes.

Dell had me to a hard reset, I was told I would not loose data... only part true.. some of my most needed programs where lost. which do not use the active sync program. ( anything under the active sync progam was replaced.

I have reinstalled the programs that where lost, but my data is missing on the much needed programs.

Is there any way to get this back, shouldn't it be someplace on my computer?

2. main computer has to be reformatted over the weekend.. I need to know how to back up what little data I still have..so I will not loose it agian.

Thank you for your answers

The data will not be found on your PC unless you did a backup and copy the file to the PC. I recommend the use of a backup to make sure you don't loose data in the future.

always backup! you can do this on an sd card or cf card or through active sync. If you dont remember doing this you probably lost all your data

when you are backing up (assuming you are using the backup utility on the pocket pc, it gives you a choice where to back up to) If you backed up using active sync and then deleted the partner ship you might be out of luck, let me check...

I saw the path and looked.. no the files that I need are not there..

I guess I will just have to start from scratch from the missing data.

So how would I backup my info that is now on the axim now in to the scandisk because by Friday, we are going to be reformatting this hard drive on the main PC..
And then how will I re-sync it without the desktop, over writing what I have on the axim

Make sure the SD card is in. Then on your pocket pc go to start-programs-data backup. Here you pick backup all data (entire ram), or just pim (just contacts, addreses, calender ect.) Then it says backup to. Switch it to sd card and then backup. You should do this quite frequently
