Some more n00b questions

I have a wireless setup at my house and my ppc would connect no problem. But now i set up a encrypition and i can't seem to figure out how to use the ppc to connect?


also when surfing the web is there any want to change the picture to be landscape? or even landscape not on the web?

I have a hardware button set up to switch from portrait to landscape. It's pretty easy to do - just searth aximsite and you will easily find instructions :)

I'm assuming that when you say you encrypted, you have also created a WEP key. This is what I would do:

1) Turn wireless on
2) go to settings=> connection=>Network cards
3) Select your network
4) Select network key panel
5) uncheck box "Key is provided for me automatically"
6) enter in your wep code in network key box.
7) click ok

It might help to shut off and turn your wirelss back on.

it keeps telling me my password is invalid.
but i know what my is cuz i set it up on my laptop. soo wtf?

Make sure you are not using a "Passworded" WEP from/on differing make devices.

Different manufacturers use different algorithms to arrive at their WEP HEX Codes, so just choose ONE to derive a WEP HEX Code from and then manually enter the HEX Code into the other devices.

Or, go HERE to generate one to enter manually on all your devices.

ok this same thing happend to me if I understand you correctly. Is there a lock over the wifi bars? If there is you have the wrong encyption passcode. What you have to do is go in internet explorer ,on you deskop computer or laptop, type in 192.168.1.1 or whatever you local router ip is and change the wep from in there. Dont use the setup utility that comes with it, when you first install the router, to set up encryption. HOPE THIS HELP, TOOK ME A LONG TIME TO FIGURE THIS OUT WHEN I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH THIS. If this doesnt work try reinstalling the router and setting everything up again, also you can try to hard or soft reset you ppc
