It should at least give you some downloads by selecting the X3. Do you have cookies disabled? Try clearing your cache and try again.

After 3 hours on the phone with Dell support yesterday, they admited that my unit's service tag number was not be properly entered into their system. They figured it out because the Service Tag properly matched the Express Service Number.

They have a "Tag" department there that can make sure the tag is properly entered. But to their discredit, it took them 3 hours and 5 people to figure it out.

A friend had an X3 go bad after 10 mths use and returned it to Dell. Dell immediately provided a refurbished unit and to their credit had a replacement on-site after only 3 days. After 57 days the refurb packed it in, and when researching Dell site to fix it, the original tag number was entered in error. The resulting display showed that the one that was returned had been resold, and was being covered under an extended warranty "Gold" coverage. My friend's refurb did not qualify for any further replacement. Interesting that the Dell site showed (still shows) support / warranty coverage on the original returned unit until January 2007. So, who knows how they verify their tag numbers and eligible support periods. (An assumption is being made that Dell sold the returned unit as "refurbished"). Hmmm anyone out their got GQB8731 to confirm this?

I dont understand this. I have the Dell Axim X30 and when I entered my service tag on dell support site (8QX6S31) it comes up as the X3...
I know I have the X30 b/c it has the wireless thing on top right and the X3 doesnt. I got disconnected from chat. I cant call b/c I cannot understand anyone that works at Dell. They have called my house 4 times already and I told them not to call back, lol...
I dont know why the tag is wrong or do I have the X3.

The X3i looks incredibly similar to the x30.....

It almost did: the x3i's antenna module sports an engraved Bluetooth logo as well as Dell's own WLAN decal. Dell may yet offer a version of the x3 with that form of wireless technology included.

To add to what psionandy is saying, don't just rely on the physical appearance of the unit. The x3, x3i, and x30 all share the same body, and both the x3i (which has wi-fi only) and the x30 mid/high (which has wi-fi and bluetooth) have the antenna bump.

What you should look at in the device itself is the 'About' screen, under the System tab. If you are running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition with a PXA270 processor, you have the x30. If you are only running Windows Mobile 2003 (*no Second Edition) and a different processor, then you probably have the x3i.

aww man.. I looked at it and it is the axim x3... I was told it was the x30 when i bought it though and its to late to send it back.
I cannot connect to wifi though. Its picking up a bunch of unlocked networks even my home and I picked up some when i was out of town.
It will not let me get online though.
Either page cannot load or a thing that comes up saying i cannot connect with my settings.

i read about the VPN and I have no clue what that is? Why cant i connect to wifi? My wireless 'net company said I needed a router but i was told no I dont b/c it has a built in router..

you need 2 things to connect to a wireless network.... a wireless network card, which your axim has and a wireless access point (which is included in a wireless router).

Do you have broadband in your house? do you have a router? is it a wireless router?

As to how to connect, wifi.aximsite.com is your friend

I am so grateful for the info.
Heres what it says on the About screen.
Microsoft Pocket PC
Version 4.20.0 (Build 13349)
1996-2003 Microsoft Corp.

Processor--- Inte(R) PXA263
Memory -- 63.29 MB guessing 64mb
Epansion slot in use (theres SD card there)

I have wireless internet at my house is all I know. We connect to this box thats outside our house. But whats weird is its showing 100% signal and saying connected. I was reading something saying if you IEE what ever on ur PPC that you have to get certificate from non source.

I seen something on geek.com and it showed the site up on the axim so I tried that site and nothing.
I either get one of two things. I was getting cannot connect with settings.. Or a few times cannot connect to ISP something another when it detected a wifi.... Now Im getting page cannot load... I even tried logging on MSN msgr that is installed. Its saying cannot load msgr b/c not connected to the internet yet on the two arrows on top showing connection says connected to 'net by wireless card.

I also have pharos IGPS 360 that will not work, do i need some sort of CDs..

anyone got any CDs to this stuff that I can buy and then send back or something...
