New Owner-Totally Clueless

Dell Axim X30 Handheld
Sorry if this is very amateur but..............

I have just got a handheld Dell Axim X30 as a gift, Im delighted with it...........but I havent a clue what I can do with it?? Im told its the mutts nutts of a set up, but all I can do in typical pleb style is put dates of events into the calendear. I compete a lot in motorsport and rallying in particular, In the past I have seen navigators using these to input times into spread sheets on these things that in turn adds all your times and your competitors times so you can easyily keep track of a running total. Im sure there is tons of stuff I can do on this thing and lots of cool programmes I can get but Im just clueless, can anyone here any advise me about handhelds and what I can do to make mine my latest all singing and dancing gadget addition, thanks but I really am clueless.

Hi XLR,

Check out my "View MyPDA" or click the link in my signature. It shows my complete setup, what I do with my x30, lot's of helpful links, and all the software I have. It should answer most of your questions.

Oh yeah....congratulations on your new PDA. Once you find out all you can do with it, you will be very happy. Welcome to Aximsite. This is a great community. If you can't find the answers here....there ain't no answer.

Ok, what you need to do is download to your desktop the English version from this page (unless of course you read Japanese):

http://www.kent7.com/holly/timecalc/

Locate the file on your desktop and unzip it. Inside you will find a file called TimeCal.exe. Connect your device to your PC via ActiveSync, then copy the file over to any location want on your Axim (e.g., My Documents, etc.). To access the files on your Axim, click on File -> Explore on your desktop ActiveSync, and you will be able to explore your device folders. To run the app, use File Explorer on your Axim to locate where you pasted the file to, then tap on it.

For more directions on installing software, check out the tutorial in my signature.

Thanks Gigi

That wee calculator will be worth its weight in gold to me, I once gave 50 Dollars for an old casio time face and would have given much more for it if needed.
This handheld could be the business for me and my motorsport!!
