Hey there everyone! I'm new here and so this is my first post. I was just wondering if you think my purchase was a good one or not. I have already ordered my x30L and it should arrive here tomorrow. Over these past few days i've been thinking about it, and wondering if I did the right thing and bought the right one for my needs. I plan on only using it for mp3s, video playback, and typing up notes in business class. I honestly don't think that i will need the wireless so thats why i went with the low x30. But after reading up on this site it made me second guess my purchase because of the fact that it only has 32mb of ram and rom and people were saying to upgrade and get the 64mb one. So i guess my question is, should i upgrade to the 64mb one or just stay with the 32mb one? Do you guys think that 32mb will be sufficent enough for my needs?
P.S. - I plan on buying a 512mb SD card to store all the mp3s and videos on, so i dont have to put anything on the unit itself to take up anymore memeory.
I recently purchased the axim 30 with blutooth and wifi with 624mhz clock speed. im completely new to pda's myself but find the axim cheap and valued piece of kit. I bought my pda from totenham court road for 350 with a 1gb card and to be honest to play mp3 and video u need it. the mp3 lasts for about 4 hours while playing solitaire and video about 3. I used carry dvd to compress the files taking about 300mb per movie from handango. ive used the bluetooth for mobile dial up which is easy to set up. dont ask me about the wifi its taken me a week to get online but there are some free spots around
I would guess that a Bluetooth wireless keyboard would be handy in business class. I think you will be surprised what you do when you have the option. Meaning you will get more use out of WiFi and BT than you think now.
You're gonna love either machine!

mine is used as basically a laptop for me, and I couldn't see having a PDA if it didn't get on the internet.
PLus with only 32mb, you will need to clean the cache files and other junk more often.
but if he/she doesn't get the wifi, he wouldn't really have to worry about cache files, unless he/she uses the internet through activesync while connected to computer.

True,
Also If they decide to use Avantgo and that cache. It just seems when I play Videos and .mp3 with Windows Media it uses up the available memory. Then I have to use pocket mechanic or any othe mem app to clean the system.
well..once can get more memory in the form of a sd card..i believe they are quite cheap now....or...like frenchy said..you have that time to paly with it and possibly return it for another unit.
Ecks
When I bought my Axim I didn't have WiFi or any Bluetooth devices. After 3 months, I had a full WiFi rig in the house, and never plug the thing into the USB port for any reason. Transfering files with WiFi is vastly faster than through the USB 1.1 native facility of the Axim.
Then two months ago I got a Bluetooth GPS. An amazingly useful device for a traveller like myself. Then last month, I got a Bluetooth phone, and can now access the Internet anywhere I can pick up a digital signal on my cell provider's network.
Without WiFi and Bluetooth, the Axim is highly limited.
Wow... thank you everyone for all your responces. I think I will just refuse my order, have it sent back to dell and re-order. Thanks to everyone once again for the help!
