I understand there is a plugin for Groupwise that will allow it to work with ActiveSync (I've never tried it because my work is still using an older version of Groupwise that the plugin won't work with. They are planning to migrate to M$ exchange so I don't expect to have a chance to try it).

Anyway, check the Novell website to see if it's a possiility. If your Dad's work isn't on the latest version, he can use IntelliSync (from Puma). I have used it successfully with Pocket PCs.

I use groupwise at work... never had any issues with syncing mail or contacts. I had to install outlook (full version that came with X30). Outlook can communicate with our groupwise server, and functions normally (I can send and receive emails from outlook, just as I can with groupwise).

When my X30 syncs, it does so with outlook. All my messages show up, and I can send/receive even though I do all of my desktop emailing thru groupwise.
