E-mail neither sends nor downloads.

I'd been happily downloading e-mail from my mail server for some time. Now this feature has ceased to function. I've checked the domain name, and my user name, re-entered the password, and made sure the server's not down. I can get on the Web fine -- am posting from my device this minute. Anyone have any ideas as to why this isn't working, and/or what setting I need to change to get it to work? It definitely used to randomly receive. I don't know whether 'sending' has ever worked; but the outgoing smtp setting is definitely uncorrupted. Any info would be appreciated!

That's definitely not it. As I said before. The mail server is definitely working. I can perform all mail operations fine from Outlook on my wireless laptop. Incidentally; I'm trying to download directly from the mail server -- not using a Web e-mail interface. My Web connection is fine. I can surf to my heart's content. But I'd like to be able to use the e-mail *client* on my handheld, so that my messages & replies will remain available offline -- not very convenient through a Web interface.

Last evening it downloaded fine, *and* gave me an error message telling me that it couldn't download. I still can't send from my handheld client; my messages sit in the Outbox and go nowhere. All server settings are correct -- domain, smtp, password, etc. All I can think is that I've got some box in the setup checked that shouldn't be -- or that I've failed to check one that I should check.

Ideas? Anyone? Help!!

I'm having a similar problem with GMail when I try to connect via my cell phone. It works fine via WiFi hot spot or activesync. However with my T-Mobile cell phone it times out with both the Messaging client and the PIE web page.

The funny thing is that this problem is only in the Washington, DC area. I did not have this problem in Idaho, Montana, or Wisconson. The official T-Mobile answer is that their network is slower in Washington, DC because they have too many subscribers.

Sometimes it works. Sometimes it will get one or two headers. Mostly though, it just times out.

Other web sites and Avantgo seem to work okay. I don't know what's up with GMail.

On the Options tab when setting up email on page 1/3 do you have Connection window as "Work",on next page 2/3 the Require SSL connection should NOT be checked. Check those two boxes.
