Has anyone made this work?

I visited the site and there is a page for accessing with a PDA... does this not work with your Axim ?
I might have a possible solution if not...but if you do not not have a Linux system it may be moot...
just curious...

/pine, I belive the ads on MLB.TV for mobile viewing is for archived games, not live ones. I am interested in watching the real games as they are being played. Am I misinterpreting the ad?
And no, I don't have a Linux system but thanks anyway.

Let's keep up the fight for our baseball on the Axim!

Caddychunk, I tried Thunderhawk last night and am not thrilled wiht it, in general. And I could not get the vidoe on the MLB.TV site to work. Not he audio. So, I don't think Thunderhawk is a viable solution for us.
I will look into another one called Netfound, I think. Maybe that will give us what we want.

Darn SSMMRR,
I was hoping Thunderhawk would work. By the way, how does it work for other sites? It looks pretty cool.
Anyway, we WILL find a solution to this before Opening day. I'm slowly but surely looking everywhere I can for a workaround.
Yes, baseball IS that important.

CaddyChunk, I didn't really go deeply into Thunderhawk other than to see if it ran my baseball games (yes, Baseball, as long its the NY Yankees, is that important to me - and I'm a female!)
THe opening screen of Thunderhawk has a list of about 12 pre-programmed sites that you can go to. MLB was not on that list. So I brought up the keyboard and had to type in all the characters for the URL. In other words, there was no way to store a URL as a favorite. The only 'favorites' were the ones they chose.
Keep looking, as will I, and maybe we will crack this one!
Only 9 days and 6 hours to Opening Day!

Solution
The tail end of last season I was able to watch live games on my x5. It wasn't too smooth because the bitrate was too high, but I think if you have a x50v you should be fine.
I accomplished this using a program called mtr. It was free, but required installing java for it to work. Here is the guy I got it from ivan@ivanx.com. I had to send him an email to request it, and then he emailed it to me. Maybe a quick google search will an alternate method of getting it.

I will try to find it. Thanks for the post Gdub. Here's some quick news on Java for a ppc. I think you could find a lot more by searching the site.

I have now released Modern Transistor Radio 2005, which will let you use your GameDay Audio or MLB.TV subscription on your Pocket PC. You can get MTR at <http://www.ivanx.com/mtr>. I hope you enjoy it.

Probably would have paid the $20 for it if it had been ready on Opening day. Season's half over now.

It will be ready for Opening Day in 2006, so check back then. In the meantime, I might mention that there are still 67 games left -- plus up to 21 in the postseason, and that's not even counting the possibility of listening to/watching multiple games in the same day. That's a lot of baseball!
Best,
Ivan.

Good points... I will probably download the trial version and play with it some this week. I just wish my CF Wifi card wasn't such a power drain ... watching completely unteathered would be sweet.
Should have some free spending money in a couple of weeks ... we'll see.
If I was taking any long flights on the new Wifi-enabled planes, I'd be on this in a heartbeat. :) How cool would THAT be?

Has anyone tried Transistor Radio 2005? Does it indeed work? If it does, I'll order my Axim tomorrow. I just don't own one yet, so I really need to know if it works as advertised. Thanks for any more info.

I downloaded the trial version. I ended up installing the program to Main Memory. Ivan can tell you how to make it work from a memory card. It took a few minutes to get the JAVA set up on my X-30h. It only took me a few minutes to realize that this MTR is what we have been waiting for. I immediately purchased the license and have been watching MLB.TV ever since. The images are really better than on my desktop since the Axim screen is much smaller.
I found Ivan to be helpful. This is the best $20.00 I have ever spent on software for any computer. I use the Windows Media instead of the Real Player.
By the way, you can download the JAVA that Ivan reccommends and do not need to purchase the key. The program does not have to be unlocked. I found this out after buying the key from Handango.

Ivan X
I just ordered an Axim X50v today. A fellow poster gave a tip on how to buy one for about $270. That was the deal I've been waiting for since April. Now that I have a way to listen to Gameday Audio, I am one pumped up person. So, as soon as my Axim arrives, I'll buy your program.
Quick question (I'm really anticipating this), Do I open transitor radio first and look for the link to Gameday or... I'm not sure how it works.
I suppose it doesn't matter as I'm going to buy it anyway.
Advanced thanks if you can tell me how your program works.
