Bluetooth pairing with phone

I just purchased a new Motorola phone with BT to use with my Axim and notebook for Internet access. In the Axim's Bluetooth Manager Connection Wizard, I selected, "Connect to Internet via phone," clicked next, and found only 4 older Ericsson phones to choose from. Is there a way to update the list and Profiles with newer phones? I think I have the latest Axim ROM update: WM 2003 SE V4.21.1088 (Build 14260.2.0.2). What's my next step?

Thanks much!

Try "Explore a Bluetooth Device" instead. That worked for me with a Moto phone.

Axim > phone pairing

That's what I did -- picked the "other phone" option and it works fine. I just thought there would be an update I could DL. Both the PPC and laptop work fine (phone is a T-Mobile V600). Thanks for your help! :approve:

Hey John,

There's a tutorial on getting GPRS set up via bluetooth in my signature...although it sounds like you've got it working fine already anyway. 'Nuff said!

Cool BT Pairing

Tabten5, that's a good guide. I "cut & pasted" that into a Word file for future reference. I used similar instructions (without the pics) from T-Mobile's web site. It was refreshing to find this info on a carrier's web site -- here in the U.S. some carriers are so terrified you'll actually use your BT phone as a modem they cripple and about kill the BT. T-Mobile actually welcomes this and helps you set it up. I had a problem at one point setting up my notebook to use the phone, I called TMO, and their techs helped me. Of course, this is one reason I chose T-Mobile instead of Verizon Wireless or Sprint.

Do you have Sprint? I was looking at the LG 325, but I heard that SPrint crippled the Bluetooth so I didn't know if it could be used for data. Thanks ---jb
