Disappointed with X30H wifi

Hi everyone,

I have changed from IPAQ 4150 to x30H. I find that the latter is quite buggy and worst, the wifi is quite bad. I have both pda side by side and I have experience that the Axim is not as good as the IPaq. I use Wififofum, it did not detect as many network as the Ipaq. What happen? Can anyone tell me? In the office, it can't even detect my network. I find that the software side is not as friendy as the Ipaq. This may be due to me being new to axim. Can anyone advise me on the configuration side? I have set the power management to off too but the range is not good.

The BT and Wifi bug is irritating. Have to turn off everytime.

Though, I express much displeasure with my x30H, i love the screen a lot though, again, not as sensitive as my Ipaq. But overall, I hope to play within all those bugs as I like the Axim more than the Ipaq. Anyone can help, please guide me through. Thank you very much.

Did you try using Odyssey. Start>settings>connection tab> Odyessy icon>Settings>enable Oddyssey> check "Connecct to: turn WIFI on and this should connect you very fast to any network. Works great for me.

Lets see if this area is ok go to start>settings>connections tab>click on network cards..Networks to access should be All Available and Automatically connect to non-preferred networks should be checked.. Click on Network adaptors and drop down window should be "WORK"

Every time I try odyessy, my wifi gets dorked up. I don't use it or those other two mentioned above, just the standard wm2003se thingy and it works great.

thanks for all the replies!!!

using standard WLAN? i have done the test and confirm IPAQ can pick up signal better than the x30H. I don't know if this is due to my lack of experience with the axim but placing them side by side reiterate the poor wifi function.

Maybe the device is faulty? Maybe the driver is not updated?

wifi driver is 1314
client 3.02.0.1
wlags46b
8.22
primary firmware 1.10
station firmware 2.26

When all hope is lost, consult the WiFi bible. ;)
