Backup taking a long time

It seems to take a very long time to do an internal backup on my Dell Axim X30. I use the built-in backup utility, backing up all data (about 5mb) to the built in storage.

The progress bar gets to around 70% in 1 minute, but to finally get to 100%, it takes about 23 minutes, and does say it was successful.

Is this normal?

Using the internal backup program has always seemed slow to me when backing up to the built in storage. Backing up to a storage card goes faster. I think I backup around 13 meg and it takes several minutes but not 23. I usually start it and let it go but I know what you are saying when it starts off quick, then seems to grind. Axim x3i.

I always back up to SD. I use Sprite backup and it is scheduled to back my axim up at 11.30pm everynight. It is a really good bit of software. Try doing a search on sprite to find out what other people think.. And you can get a trial version to try for yourself...

You might follow my posting "Back up time" just posted. I have an X50v, & don't have such long times as you backing up to internal storage, but I have noticed that backing up to an SD external card is much, much faster. Could be the amount of free space on the external card (large) versus the free space in the internal memory (small). I'll have to see what others say to my post.
