At what processor speed does your X30H processor idle?

I just noticed something a little weird. I have my X30 sitting in the cradle, charging a new battery (which could be the cause here), but processor speed is set on "Auto", but is pegged at 624mhz. It has not wavered since I checked 15 minutes ago (unless I force to Powersave).

I have no application running other than ActiveSync and Wisbar Advanced. Today plug-in's are PocketBreeze,PocketWesther, SPB PPlus and PocketRSS plugin. Would this much background activity keep the CPU speed pegged at 624mhz? Seems a little much.

Thanks for the input.

GZ

It can depend on programs which are 'still' running, i get that problem. Just soft reset and it should return to normal, Also having it in the cradle may affect it.

Hope this helps.

When its on external power it sets to full speed, because there's not really any reason not to. If you unplug it, it idles at 208, or at least mine does anyway.

Yep, my X30H is just the same: 624 in the cradle, drops to 208 when out of the cradle. Works just fine.

doesn't the new A03 rom for the x50 have a lot more steps allowed for the processor? like 624 512 or whatever and like a 208 or something then a 100 something? dell should do that on a new rom for x30, wouldn't that improve battery life a little?

Same here. Make sure to soft reset to make sure you are shutting down everything.
