Charging from Cradle

Hi Folks,

I assume that my Axim X30H is supposed to sync and charge through my cradle when I park it. While it syncs perfectly, it doesn't seem to charge, and it's a net charge loss when I park my Axim on the cradle and leave it on.

I'm using the front usb ports on my computer. Am I charging it incorrectly, is the charging that much slower than with the AC plug-in charger, or is there any way of troubleshooting the cradle set-up or the usb ports?

The power must be put to the cradle to have the Aximd charging if turn on. The Cradle alone (no power) will slowly charge the Axim if it is turn off. When you turn off the Axim the power light will turn orange indicating that it is charging. If the the cradle is powered the orange light will be on even if the unit is on. The light will turn green when it is fully charged. You can put the Axim into the cradle without power for about one hour and check the status of the charge. The percentage will go up if it is charging.

I didn't understand what you were saying until I looked at the back of the cradle. So I need to use the same AC power plug to charge the cradle. Damn!! I keep my cradle at work and my AC charger at home, so I can charge overnight. I guess I need a second AC charger.

Thanks for the info.
