Question What to expect when Dell axes the X30 line?

What is going to happen to us X30 users when Dell discontinues the X30 line? Will we see significant effects or will we not notice it at all? I just finished reading the article on the front page and it kinda bummed me out. Just wanted to see others viewpoints on the subject. Personally I think it sucks since I have only been an axim user for about 2 months now.

i've had pda's for 5 yrs. and i dont always have the newest OS on the market. The only problem your gonna have is in a year or two some of the newer programs (mostly games) will probably be for WM2005 and then your gonna get stuck drooling all over the floor reading what other ppl are doing.

Other from that, the PDA will still work for PIM and games. If you got a wireless one you can still get on the internet with it. You can still use the old programs and some developers when making their games/programs will probably try to make it as backward compatible as they can to get more customers

Gotta agree with that. I would expect no significant change in the amount of available software for the next few years. There might be WM2005 optimized version (like we have SE optimized versions today) but I don't think many developers will swing the axe at all those NOT using WM2005.

Just the tweaking programs will probably improve, but I would not worry...
