Axim X30mid or HP iPAQ rx3115??

Hi guys! I was thinking on buying the Axim X30 mid, and according to the info and advices i got from the aximsite, i was waiting for a nice "deal of the week" from Dell.

While I was waiting (2 weeks now) I found the HP iPAQ rx3115 for almost the same price!

I like more the design of the HP, and they seam very simmilar in terms of characteristics!

The biggest difference i found is that HP has only 4MB of flash memoty for my files (I assume this is for PIM data only). However, since i have an 512SD card, i dont think that will make a big difference.

Does any one worked with the HP rx3115 and the Axim X30 mid? What is the best?

;)

thanks

ah...it is not the same price between axim x30 (mid) vs HP iPAQ rx3115. while on hp.com site states the price of HP iPAQ rx3115 is $349. i got my axim x30(mid) for a $237 last year 9/04. there was a 15% discount during that week...maybe for opening school year special. so the price differences is more than $100 between the two if u were able to get the axim x30 (mid) for about $237.

and on hp site it stated that the HP iPAQ rx3115 has 56 MB user memory...im assuming it is ram memory. the axim x30(mid) has about 64 MB of ram. that is 8 MB more than the ipaq. for a pocketpc...those ram memory are very precious...it means u can load up more applications and it wont slow ur pda down.

i think i have made the decision for u.

I would go for the X30Mid no questions ask. If you can afford a little more why not the X30H.

I have a friend with an HP and he agrees with me that the x30 is so much better. HPs are a rip off and if you look at the warranty on them, they are not as good as Dell's.

The cheapest you can get a new RX3115 for is about $256.98. Which I can purchase the x30H for that price. Dunno where your getting your math from :) The x30M will be alot more cheaper.

Hello? Both of these units have 64MB of RAM. HP support is much better than Dell. The rx gets longer battery life as well, not to mention it looks nicer. The x30 is just so plain looking.
You also get Nevo streaming media capabilities with the HP, as well as the Nevo remote control app which is great.
Go for the HP.

Thanks guys!

My main interest in the PPC is basically:

- PIM functions
- Check my email

I really dont need that much speed and RAM! I can get a HP for $280, so its more or less the same price!

For sure the looks are better, and its also SMALLER! (that for me its important!)

I also think that the X30mid has lower battery life!

Still, I must admit.. its a tought decision....

I need to think a bit more!

;)

They're the same. Think of the extra money you'd pay for that HP ipaq as the cost of remote control software and an IR extender. But if your really not at all interested in that kind of use for a pda get the X30. Think of the money you save as the price of another sd card. ;)

I have Both
RX3115's bt is more stable, longer battery time; while Axim has better audio quality and better wifi range
X30's battery is pretty cheap now, you can buy a bunch of them for wifi
if you tether with phone through bt a lot (especially 6230), you need RX3115, Axim's bt is INCOMPATIBLE with 6230, period
Axim's ROM is higher-reliable Intel flash (I experienced ROM corruption on RX3115, requires format)
