X30H - Any advantage to highspeed SD card?
Can the X30 high take advantage of the faster SD cards like the SansDisk Ultra? Or is a run of the mill (and lower cost) card going to provide the same performance?

Hi ,
I use both the SanDisk Ultra 512MB and the Lexar Media plain 512MB cards. If you are just going to treat a card like an extra storage space for data there`s no difference. However, if you`re going to install apps onto the card and run them from there, I would recommend a high speed one. Also making backup / restoring is faster with a high speed card. The prices of both should be close to each other.
Good luck!

I don't think you will notice any difference. None of the Axims will read faster than about 8x and write about 1x so any speed card will do. That said the high speed cards are only a few dollars more typically (sometimes the same price) so there is no advantage in not getting one either.
Cheers

BUT if you were looking to transfer data, with a hi-speed card you can transfer faster via a card reader. Is it worth the extra $ thats up to each person's perspectives and cash flow. The hi-speed is usually about $10-$15 more expensive then the regular speed. To some thats very small difference but to others thats huge. Personally I rather save that little money and use it toward a bigger card upgrade. i.e. a 2gb sd card :)

Still my impression is as described in my previous post - my X30H seems to work faster with the SanDisk Ultra. I have not conducted any precise performance tests of both, however.

The real difference is when using a dedicated card reader to transfer MP3s etc. Then the difference is explicit; even between a 40x and a 60x. But whilst the card is in your Axim I would say there is no performance gain.
