the only way to see if it'll work is to actually install and run the app :). but it works great on my x30m, although i wish it had more "advanced" search options . as for the 2nd question i'd search the forum or google around.

It says right on Skype's site that the minimum requirements are 400MHz so it is not surprising it does not work for you.

Skype works fine for me on my X30 mid. I have read elsewhere (not sure where now) that if you put the speaker up to your ear and turn down the gain? (can't remeber the exact wording) on the microphone to about 50%, the sound quality is pretty good. I didn't turn down the mic input volume and it works fine for me, but you might more background noise than you want (just play around with it to see). Even though the mic is on the other side, it works.
Also, if you don't want to mess with other Skype users and just want to use Skype as a free "cell phone", create two accounts, one for your Axim and one for your PC.

I have skype on my PC and use skypeout to call my relatives oversea. But this talk of Skype not working on x30M really got me interested so I decided to test it out.

Since I dont have wifi in my house I asked my neighbors to lend me their network for 10 minutes to test it out. So I was sitting in my room getting a signal from my neighbor (YES I got a signal from my next door neighbor and boy was he surprised that the pda could get a signal that far). So I connected my pc to skype and then connected my ppc to skype and tried it using its built-in speaker and mic. IT WORKED! Although I did notice that there seemed to be abit of lag time. Maybe its because my neighbors connection is slower? I guess I'll ask him tmw but its all cool that it works :)
