No, if you havn't noticed already, windows mobile is very unstable, and windows mobile 5 is much more unstable than what you have right now. The reasons to get a windows mobile 5 device, at least that I can see, is support for powerpoint files, and possibly more features in pocket word and excel. I bet there is more ability to make games and graphics for windows mobile 5. But right now, windows 2003 SE gets the job done pretty well.

By the way, seeing that you came from a palm, there's a lot of good hints on this site in the guides. One huge difference from palm and pocket pc is that palms run one program at a time. When you start a new program the old one closes. That is not the case for pocket pc. If you start a new program, the old one stays in the background. And the X button in the upper right corner only hides the program. If you want to close it, use dell's switcher bar, or numerous other programs like battery pack pro, sbp (there are literally tens of programs that do this).

Hope you enjoy your axim.

WM5 - Not on Dell's Task list

I just signed it today, but it has been a year since the petition was written. I doubt Dell will do it. The programmers are too busy playing World of Warcraft to actually care about it. I do not like the design of the Axim X51 series and I think it is cheesy that they are not selling X30 anymore. Why would they offer cheeper ones when they can have you buy the expensive X51 series that has more features than you really need?

In addition, some of the hardware on the x30 doesn't even meet the requirements for Windows Mobile 5, so it ain't gonna happen. Too slow, too old, too bad :(
I would, and it would be my best spent money since I bought the X30.

If X30s could talk, this would be the first thing they would say,"We are not junk,we are not scrap."(I heard that off the movie Robots.Dell reminds me of that movie. They try to quit offering service to older model robots to send them to the scrapheaps and force them to buy expensive upgrades.Same here:All we need is WM5,but Dell is trying to force us to send the X30s to the scrapheaps and buy an expensive X51 that we don't need.(Dell obviously plays the part of the villain.)
