Ditto. As good as WM2005 looks, I think for Dell the X30 is now being a bit old. Plus, with WM2005 on X50s Dell could say that if you want the latest and greatest, get X50. Not the X30 now.

but why? the only improvement the x50 give on the performance is with 3D graphics....

x50 has got scope to be better, but i bet the x30 will run wm5.0 fine.

I hate to be the bad guy,but we have been through this before with the X5Advanced. We were able to get 2003 upgrade but then they did not offer to get the 2nd edition upgrade. Im afraid they are going to bypass the x30,and only support the X50 because the x30 is now old,just like my poor old X5Advanced sorry guys.

Face it X30 users (myself included) You are gunna have to get a new ppc sooner or later, mine will probably be the first part of next year (have to get a good year of solid use out of it before i think of upgrading) So maybe instead of wasting time petitioning, you should spend time getting money for that new upgrade of ppc which will include wm2005

Why the need to upgrade at all, I know it would be nice and everything but your X30s will still be seriously good PDAs for the next couple of years. Sit back.. slowly save and in 2+ years time you can hop aboard the next PDA/Smartphone/Ultratablet27 device and be at the top of the tree again. If an X60 comes out in the next 12-18 months i'm sticking with my X50 (unless i find some need to do something that i can't do with the X50 that meens I realy do need to upgrade)

Later, much later. I cant afford to buy a new PDA! not for at least 3 or 4 years, its called a labour goverment + university fees.

Yes, but i'm using my ppc for mostly multi-media and such, so if something that blows everything out of the water for like video and stuff like that, i'll seriously look at it, but then again my x30 does all that and has all my appointments and stuff in it aswell......

Thats the touble with the bleeding edge its very expensive to sit there... and you keep falling off.

It sounds like the next wave of PDAs (with a HD in them) will be just your cup of tea. So your timescale of the first part of next year will be a good time to look. However there are still going to be a large amount of X30 users at that time.. and of course the longer you wait the bigger jump you can make

I signed. But I don'T think it will even come to Dell.

If the X50 low get the update, I don't see why X30 high can't have it.

I think they don't make the upgrade because the X30 low wouldn't be able to handle it (32mb rom/ram)

BTW, Dell is still selling the X30 series, so they should support what they are selling.
