Thanks for the signatures so far, keep it up. The Axim X30 series is a good sturdy ppc, and still sells massively. Can't Dell see this and give users more reason to stick with Dell, and not go over to a rival company who are offering updates? E.g. HP/Toshiba?

Dell are the biggest company providing systems to Home/Office users and therefore should see their potential to keep them all sweet and with upgrades!

(By the way, Dell, this doesn't count for just US users, we want it over here also! Considering its just a download...)

Hahaha, Toshiba? You gotta be kidding
And HP doesn't quite have the unblemished track record either.

Well, this US user sure as hell doesn't want the WM2005 upgrade, since it removes the sync-over-WLAN function (or any network)

And the conclude the post, I'd like to see one example where anything at petitiononline.com has changed anything in the real world.

I don't want to derail the thread, but my understanding is that the X30 is not going to be a lot of good with even the top end unit only having 64MB of ROM. On the 32MB ROM version it's going to be much worse.

This approach is fairly consistent with what is being offered by HP.

I'm not saying that no-one should sign the petition, quite the opposite in fact. Sign the petition, but take the time to understand what the impact of this update might be.

You can't just download a copy of Windows Mobile 2005 and install it on your axim. It needs to be a specific update by dell.

Well either way, dont you think you should have the OPTION to get it, rather than DELL making that decision for you. THAT is why you should sign.

I'd sign if it wasn't a waste of 30 seconds of my time. Petitiononline.com is useless.

no doubt a dell version of wm2005 will appear on p2p/usenet within days of the official public release (if not before)

All you have to do then is offer dell the costs of making the upgrade and I'm sure they will. $1million would probably get you and every other X30 user the chance to get the upgrade
