Uninstalled program icon still on Programs screen

Is anyone else having this problem? Anyone know the resolution?

I install a program that uses an older windows version. When I uninstall it, the icon for that program is still there on Start->Programs. It's a dead link stuck there, and I don't know how to get rid of it. Please help...

go to the windows folder and there u will see tonnes of folders like start menu folder, program folder etc etc go to one of them and then delete the icon file:-)
