HyperTerminal

I have a Dell Axim x30 with BlueTooth. Here are a few questions:
a) Does the Axim x30 have a terminal program like HyperTerminal?
b) If yes, how can I communicate with a PC using HyperTerminal? Specifically, what settings do I need to set on the Axim and my XP PC?
c) If no, how can I use the Serial Port to send bytes of data (my application needs to be able to send 512 bytes of data at a time)?

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

You can communicate and exchange data between a PC and PPC via the following:

Bluetooth - You will need a Bluetooth adapter for the desktop or laptop if not integrated.
Infrared - Same you need an IR port on teh PC or laptop
WiFi - A WiFi card must be in the PC or laptop and you use peer to peer connection settings for this. Look at the WiFi tutorial in View MyPDA in my Sig.
Cradle or cable - USB connection direct to to PC or Laptop.
WiFi - An Access Point router must be connected to you home Internet access.

I can't recall more than this. Hope this help. BTW Welcome to aximsite

not sure if the axim has a hyperterminal, but the x30 bluetooth driver has a serial port profile. So with a BT adapter on ur PC set to serial port profile and connected to ur axim it should work ....

Not sure it it will tho ????

There are quite a few terminal emulator programs for PPC.

Here's one of them: http://www.cam.com/vxhpc.html

Thanks for all your help and your warm welcome. I was able to go to the "www.cam.com/vxhpc.html" website and use the software. I truly appreciate your help.
I'm still having a problem. The good news is that I can initiate the conversation from my PC and talk to the Axim. The bad news is that if I initiate the conversation from the Axim, it just hangs up and no conversation takes place. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Sincerely,
Charles

I've had the best success with RS-232 communications using the Pocketdos emulator (www.pocketdos.com) along with my old Procomm Plus (Dos Version).

I've also use PocketDos with Kermit Version 3.14 21 May 1995 on a regular basis.

Good Luck . . .
