no notes hardware button

One of the buttons on the bottom of my axim 30 used to open Notes in a new file. "Something" happened and it doesn't do that anymore. I've been able to get it to open Notes menu of files, but not to a new file. Anyone have any ideas how to do this? Thanks.

go to start->settings->buttons and check if the button you were using to open Notes is still set to open Notes.

I found that in Notes, if you have at least 1 saved Note, it won't open a new one. It just goes into the directory where the notes are stored.

So I guess, the solution is to keep the notes directory listing empty.
