Disabling WMP 10

Is there anyway to disable WMP10 on the X30 so PIE cannot load it up when accessing streaming video (asf file)and so will load betaplayer instead?

I tried changing the file associations in betaplayer, but PIE still bootsup WMP10 when I select a link to an asf file.

If you have WMP10 on your Pocket PC you can't play Windows Video files with Betaplayer something about the codecs (or something technical like that) changed and only WMP will play them.

That's a bugger, I just can't get smooth playback on WMP10 (PPC) with Orb (or anything else for that matter). Used to think it was a problem with Orb, but it streams video fine to my laptop.

You can try putting it on maximum performance, free up some bandwith, or increase the streaming speed.

Max performance = CPU setting
If you wanna disable WMP10, there's no way you can becuase like Windows XP, microsoft did a REALLY good job of integrating WMP10 in the WM2003SE! DOH!
If you install another player, it could overwrite WMP10 settings with its own. Try that.

Running at 624Mhz makes no difference, still jerky playback with WMP10 when streaming. Even happens with my low res DiVx recodes, still jerky..looks like its playing back at 15fps instead of 30.

As mentioned before, even setting up the file associations in Betaplayer to force BP to play streaming video does no good..WMP still loads.

Where are you getting the file from?
You cant try pausing and then going to /temp, and it should be somewhere in there, then just go into betaplayer, then open, and find the file.
