I also did a fresh install. Everything went VERY well. Ya'll had me worried that I would screw it up and have an expensive paper-weight. I just did a fresh install a couple weeks ago because I was beta-testing a program, but it was worth it. They are all little upgrades (minus the WLAN tab on the power settings) but I like to have the latest.
Is it just me or does Bluetooth have more options. Something seems different (I know the stack was updated, but I'm not quite sure what that means; I could be answering my own question :) )

Well, considering the fact that it doesn't update anything I want (don't use the Odyssey client, deleted it in fact), I will stay off it.
I don't want to reinstall all of my programs, coupled with the fact that it may reduce my battery life.
Good luck to all those who tried. :)
Hope the issue gets resolved. I am going to wait for A07, if we'll get one.
The new BT stack looks tempting, but I don't use BT that much to want it bad :)

Well, I have Intel PXA 270
Processor 624MHz
ROM A02
So, it looks like I have to do a few ROM upgrades to get to the latest version.
Are there other links on how to get the upgrades A03 thru 05? Then I can move onto A06.
Rules on A06 look complicated:
Recommended Dell recommends applying this update during your next scheduled update cycle. The update contains feature enhancements or changes that will help keep your system software current and compatible with other system modules (firmware, BIOS, drivers and software).
Additional Information
System update for Axim X30 312MHz & 624MHz (802.11b Wireless LAN & Bluetooth) and Axim X30 312MHz (non-wireless) configurations. The previous version of the system was A00/A02/A03/A05. The version for this update is A06.
Important Information
Because of differences in the file storage format between Windows Mobile for Pocket PC 2003 Build 14049 (A02/A03) and Windows Mobile for Pocket PC 2003 Build 14260 (A05/A06), neither the Microsoft ActiveSync backup utility nor the Dell Data Backup utility can be used to migrate data from A02/A03 to A05/A06. You must read and understand the following instructions about migrating your data from A02/A03 to A05/A06 before attempting the upgrade to ensure that you do not lose any of your files or data.
You can use ActiveSync 3.7.1 to back up and restore data using two methods:
* Automatic synchronization ¨C Used for data such as PIM and Microsoft Outlook data
* Manual backup ¨C Used to back up files that do not need to be backed up continuously
Fixes and Enhancements
1. Added feature that allows the WLAN auto power-off feature to be enabled and/or disabled in the Power applet.
2. Updated the Funk Odyssey client to version 2.00.00.1681
3. Updated the Bluetooth stack to version 1.5.0.4300
4. Added support for Go Daddy SSL certificate
Installation Instructions
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hard Drive Installation (via WinZip) with Setup.exe File for R101483.EXE
Download
1.Click Download Now, to download the file.
2.When the File Download window appears, click Save (Windows XP
users will click Save) this program to disk and click OK. The Save In:
window appears.
3.From the Save In: field, click the down arrow then click to
select Desktop and click Save. The file will download to your desktop.
4.If the Download Complete window appears, click Close. The file
icon appears on your desktop.
Install
1.Double-click the new icon on the desktop labeled R101483.EXE.
2.The Self-Extracting window appears and prompts you to extract or
unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R101483. Write down this path so the executable (I.e.
Setup.exe) file can be found later.
3.The Self-Extractor window appears.
4.Click OK.
5.After completing the file extraction, if the Self-Extractor
window is still open, close it.
6.Click the Start button and then click Run.
7.Type C:\DELL\DRIVERS\R101483 in the Open textbox and then click OK.
8.Follow the on-screen installation instructions.

What you said
 Ok....I hope I didn't screw up.....
I have the X30H and had not been keeping up since all the trouble voiced over A03. When I checked in last week I saw the A06 thread and decided to jump. Now I read your post and I wonder ..... SHould I have installed 3,4 and 5 first????!!! I figured that A06 would do it all....?
Either way I have done it and the only problem I am having is WMP10 playing my WMV videos. STRANGE!
Any suggestions out there?
Thanks

Nope, it can be installed over whichever update you want
I don't really understand your problem, can you re-phrase it?

Thanks....
I had seen another post where someone indicated the proper way to update ROM was to go through all the ROM updates individually, and that didn't make sense, that was why I was worried.
The only problem I have now with A06 is that WMP10 will not play my WMV videos....but I have seen enough to think I might just get betaplayer or something else.
Thanks

Actually activesyncing, installing & file copying via the cradle all seem faster to me since the upgrade.

I have no issues with A06 i have updated since the released of it .
But after a week of use , it's obvious the battery is being drained much faster.
Since i had no problem with A05 i think i may go back to A05 if i find a link to DL it . (sorry by advance for the crosspost , but that answer make sense in different topics ;) )

In regards to the power-drain issue:
It might be hardware revision level related.
If some of you with 'good' A06 installs and some of you with 'bad' ones could post your hardware version we might learn something. It's on the sticker under the battery, and is also an 'AXX' number.

i doubt it would be a hardware issue, since with A05 i had much more uptime. Except that power drain i have no problem with A06.
hardware revision :A12

Don't do it then. It seemed to have made the whole PDA much mor unstable in my cause, requiring numerous resets a day. That's besides the power drainage. Went back to A05.
