It didn't say anything in the release notes, but my wireless speed seems a lot faster. I'm not using Odessy. Sorry n0m0n, I didn't experience the button problem, so I can't help you there. Start >> Settings >> Button was set all along to wireless power I did the upgrade from A05-A06 the hard way. Flashed the ROM, and re-installed app by hand.

Yeah not a problem.
I am not reinstalling my apps one by one and hoping that this upgrade plays nice with everything I have installed.
Thanks

I'm currently on A05.. and like some others I think I will pass on this update. Just a word of advice.. in order to have a true rom update. you should always perform a 'Hard reset' after the rom update and re-install each app one by one. as oppose to restoring a backup from a previous Rom version. just my .02cent

Hard reset is not required. The flash utility will do it for you.

Has anybody who upgraded the BT stack to 1.6 had problems installing the new rom?

If I use Activesync to backup, will it reinstall the upgraded BT files to my X30 after I've upgrade the rom?

I have upgraded yesterday from A05, after doing a full backup with ActiveSync. After the upgrade, I tried to restore from the backup and I get a message that the restore cannot be done, because the backup was done with a different mobile device. Even after downgrading to the previous ROM (I made a backup of the ROM with the Dell utility) I get the same message! Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
P.S.: I downloaded the upgrade from the Dell US site, my X30H was purchased online from a UK store. Could that make a difference. Both are English versions.

check if the time and regional settings are set as they were when you backed up before upgrading and then try to reapply the backup.

You restored from which kind of backup?

- the one in Activesync (.stg file)
- the one in Settings (.dbk file)

thanks!

If anyone was interested, my axim flashed back to A00 and seemed to boot ok, but after maybe 2 or 3 seconds it completely locks up. I thought maybe it was something to do with the builtin wifi because this usually loads about 2 or 3 seconds after boot - however I took the little wifi/bt card out and it still locks up.. Unless anyone else has any ideas it looks like my axim is scrap :<

I have my backup of A05 ROM...I guess you could use it. I can email it to you, or if you have MSN Messenger PM me with your email address and I will send it to you. It is about 18MB

I meant to say it is 18MB ZIPPED....It is 32MB unzipped obviously

Interesting enough, mine froze a few times too after the upgrade. I'm not sure if it's some kind of conflict between the full restore and the new ROM. It hasn't frozen for a day so I'm knocking on wood that it's not a problem.

You can downgrade by downloading the A05 ROM off dell's ftp site. Put the file (either C or N) found in the /rom folder (after extracting) onto the root of a sd card. The C type works for mid, N type wouldn't load. Then hold down thumbwheel in and contact, while quickly pressing the reset button. Then release thumbwheel and contact after a couple seconds.

Do this at your own risk. It's probably not as safe as dell's program (which doesn't let you downgrade argh!) Good luck!

I thought your only problem was bent pins. Couldn't you load a newer ROM through the SD card? Wasn't that what you were doing by asking whether C or N works? I don't understand what's wrong with your axim.
