TodayWarrior .47

Ok i downloaded Todaywarrior for my X30H to test the wi-fi consumption based on the thread in this forum that deals with the A06 upgrade.

I want to see what my usage is. It should be ~100mA on idle according to the poster. I wanted to check mine before i take the plunge with A06 ( i am currently using A05)

I do not use oddysey. Is this power save feature that is mentioned specific to the oddysey client? or is it something that users of the Dell Wlan utility get too? I am unable to check for myself becuase everytime i load today warrier and have it active on the today screen, i am unable to connect to my wi-fi.. As soon as i disable it (uncheck it for the today screen) i connect right away.

When the program is running, it connects, then disconnects right away. it just keeps doing this over and over.

I don't really want the program, i just wanted to see what my power consumption was. I am interested in knowing how to use, set, and confirm the powersaving mode.

any help would be much appreciated.

Mike

No clue about TodayWarrior, I've never used it. However, I can tell you that you may be getting confused with last week's discussion of the A06 upgrade.

The "Power" applet under Settings now allows you to disable the automatic wifi shut-off when battery goes below 30%. Previously, you didn't have a choice; the X30 would kill its wireless at 30% battery power.

You're confusing this with another feature of the A06 upgrade - new version of Odyssey Client. Firestormy2k thought for a moment that the new Odyssey was actually increasing power consumption on his device... but later recanted these statements, suspecting that TodayWarrior had not given him accurate info. This seems like a false alarm, and is completely irrelevant to you if you don't use Odyssey.

yes, that is where i first learned of this........ What i was looking for is a feature in todaywarrior that lets you know what your power consumption is..... that way i could see for myself.

I can't, however, get it to work.

No confusion with the under 30% consumption. great feature... in fact, this is the only reason i would upgrade. but i don't want to upgrade until i know about this power consumption issue on the wi-fi and the battery problems that some people are complaining about.
