Connecting Axim X30 to HP switch via Telnet

Hi All
I am trying to connect a Dell Axim X30 to a HP Procurve 2524 switch via telnet.

Software used:
O/S:Pocket PC 2003
Telnet:vxHPC

Hardware
Dell Axim X30
Dell Serial sync cable attached to a USB to ps2 converter, which in turn is attached to a ps2 to serial converter (this connects to the switch.

Am I using the incorrect lead to connect to the switch?
I have set the telnet software to the correct session settings.

Any ideas?

I doubt that this setup will work. The USB on the X30 is a device (not a host, which is suspect is necessary to connect to the switch).
