Hard reset on X30 and redoing it all!

I have an x30 with Windows Mobile 2003 SE, ROM A00. It is getting slow and soft reset is a struggle, it hangs and I have to push the button MANY times, getting scared that it just wont "reboot" one day! It took me forever to get it all set the way I wanted it and I have lots of software including ereader programs that can be a pain to activate etc. I DREAD a hard reset. I have read some threads but really need some advise as to what is the easiest way to reload all my programs, what will happen to my calendar and contacts if I hard reboot, will I have to re-esatablish the sync(s)- I sync to my work laptiop and home desktop, and that was a pain to set up. Just looking for adivce or a step by step for redoing it all.

Hard rests are a pain. You can however save your pim data by using the built in backup utility that came with the axim and either save it to your built in storage or an sd card (that way you don't lose it when your device hard resets). Now, about all your programs, i believe the option that says "back up all data: which i think will let you save everything, but i need another member to verify that.

You should get Sprite Backup so once you have your machine finely tuned you can have a backup saved.

If you are still on rom A00 you may want to consider updating to a05 or a06
