Data Loss due to Battery Drain

I'm out of town on business and unfortunately my trip was extended by a number of days. I didn't bring the charger for my X30 and the battery is down to one bar. I've turned it off, but don't anticipate being able to charge it again for a few days. Will my programs and data be lost due to the battery drain?

I know I'm an idiot for not bringing the charger.

Thanks!!!

From what I have read some time back, from the time Axim prompts with 'critical low battery' message, the PPC can continue to provide charge for next 48 hours. This is of course assuming that you are not using your PPC. Once your main battery is dead then your backup battery can provide power for 30 minutes (I hope I got this number right). Hopefully you have a backup of your system, just in case.

Go download the trial to Sprite Backup and back it up to SD or CF.

I think Sprite no longer provides trial version of their software.

Thanks for the advise. I have Sprite backup, but I'm afraid I don't have enough battery power to complete a backup. My last backup was a few weeks ago so I guess I'll live with that. Note to self... back up more often and always carry a charger.

When you get back to civilisation... set sprite to back up automatically everynight. You can also set it to do a backup when the battery gets below a certain threshold (say 30% remaining)

Maybe I am paranoid but I have Sprite backup my PPC once a day in the middle of the night. It gives me a wonderful peace of mind knowing that in the event of a hard reset, I will only lose 24 hours maximum or stuff.

Are you in a civilized area? Maybe there's a store with off-brand chargers and stuff... I have one I got online that's a sync cable with two adapters, one for the car and one to plug in to the wall, and it was about $6+shipping. Works fine. Maybe there's a gadget shop near you that might carry that sort of thing.

Hope you don't lose your data!
